Vectorworks已开启第三届学生设计奖征集,欢迎认可的大专学校和大学修读设计的学生参加,或是2015、2016届毕业生。大赛希望奖励当今有决心解决最具挑战性的设计问题的学生,鼓励学生们对设计的想像力和启发性。
中国赛区分别设有建筑、景观、娱乐、室内四个类别,学生只需提交学校作业(限于50MB的PDF、.mov或.mp4文件格式),再回答三条简单问题,便
可参加比赛,有机会蠃取8000美元奖金及公开展示作品的机会。而优胜者更有机会争夺国际级大奖──「RichardDiehl设计奖(理查德·迪尔设计
奖)」。
Vectorworks设计奖学金项目包括两轮竞赛。

Sponsor
Sponsor is Vectorworks, Inc., 7150 Riverwood
Drive, Columbia, MD 21046, USA (“Sponsor”).
Term
The 2016-2017
Vectorworks Design Scholarship and Richard Diehl Award (the “Scholarship”)
begins October 12, 2016 at 12:00:00 p.m. US Eastern Daylight Time (“ET”) and
ends July 15, 2017 at 11:59:59 a.m. US EDT. ALL COMPLETED SUBMISSIONS MUST BE
RECEIVED BY 11:59:59 a.m. ET on July 15, 2017. The Sponsor’s database clock will
be the official timekeeper for this Scholarship. Information on how to enter and
prizes are a part of these official rules (“Official Rules”). By applying, each
entrant agrees to these Terms and Conditions and warrants that his or her
submission complies with all requirements set out in these Terms and
Conditions.
Who May Enter
The Scholarship is open only to students
enrolled in a design-based program during the 2016-2017 academic year or who
graduated from a design program in 2015 or 2016 and who are 18 years of age or
older at the time of entry and who do NOT reside in Cuba, Iran, North Korea,
Sudan, or Syria. Employees of Vectorworks, Inc. and its distributors, partners,
subsidiaries and affiliates, and their immediate family members (spouse, parent,
child, sibling, and their respective spouses, regardless of where they live) or
persons living in the same households of such employees, whether or not related
are not eligible.
How to Enter
During the Scholarship Term, eligible
participants should visit www.vectorworks.net/scholarship to submit a qualified
entry (“Submission”) by completing the following steps:
Submit the
application form; and
Upload a project file in PDF, .mp4, or .mov
format.
Winners of Vectorworks Design Scholarships will automatically be
entered to win the Richard Diehl Award
Entries may not contain, as
determined by the Sponsor, any content that is explicit or overtly suggestive,
unnecessarily violent, offensive, or derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender,
or age group.
No purchase is necessary to participate in the Scholarship
or to win prizes. A free, 30-day trial of Vectorworks software may be requested
at www.vectorworks.net/trial.
Chances to Win
No fewer than (10) ten
Vectorworks Design Scholarship awards will be presented based on judges’ rating
of Submissions in accordance with the published rubric, which is based on the
following criteria:
Design Quality;
Technology;
Concept
and Originality;
Presentation; and;
Explanation of
design.
Scholarship Prizes
Prizes awarded include:
Number of recipients depends on amount and quality of Submissions as determined
by judges. Amount of awards ranges between $1,000 USD and $3,000 USD and varies
by locale and determined by local county rules and exchange rates as of August
18, 2017.
One $7,000 USD selected as Richard Diehl Award recipient from
among the recipients of Vectorworks Design Scholarship awards.
Vectorworks Designer licenses for recipients’ schools’ labs.
Media
coverage and networking opportunities.
Other benefits, which vary based
on recipient’s country of residence.
Winning Parties will be notified of
their winning Submission on/about August 3, 2017 via the email address the
entrant provided on his/her application. If the Sponsor does not receive a
response within five (5) days of outreach, a replacement Winner will be
selected, and the initial Winner forfeits all rights and claims to the
prize.
License
By entering the Scholarship, all entrants grant an
irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide non-exclusive license to Authorized Parties,
such as partners, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising agencies, agents and
their employees, officers, directors, and representatives, to reproduce,
distribute, display and create derivative works of the entries (along with a
name credit when possible) in connection with the Scholarship and marketing of
the Scholarship, in any media now or hereafter known, for no additional
compensation, including, but not limited to: social media, email, advertising,
collateral, website inclusion, and tradeshows. Display or publication of any
entry on an Authorized Party’s website does not indicate that the Entrant will
be selected as a Winner. Authorized Parties will not be required to pay any
additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such
use as authorized by the License. Additionally, by entering, each Entrant grants
to the Authorized Parties the unrestricted right to use all statements made in
connection with the Scholarship, including winning photographs and each winner’s
name, photograph, likeness, and/or voice in any publicity or advertising
relating to the Scholarship or future promotions without compensation or
approval (except where prohibited by law).
Limitation of Liability
By
entering this Scholarship, all Entrants agree to release, discharge, and hold
harmless the Sponsor and its Authorized Parties from any claims, injuries,
losses, and damages arising out of their participation in this Scholarship or
any Scholarship-related activities and the acceptance and use, misuse, or
possession of any prize awarded hereunder.
The Sponsor assumes no
responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, or delay
in operation or transmission; communications line failure; theft or destruction
of or unauthorized access to Scholarship entries or entry forms; or alteration
of entries or entry forms. The Sponsor is not responsible for any problems with,
or technical malfunction of, any telephone network or lines, computer online
systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any
entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on
the Internet or at any website, human errors of any kind, or any combination
thereof, including any injury or damage to an Entrant or any other person’s
computer related to or resulting from participation, uploading or downloading of
any materials related to in this Scholarship.
Conditions
THIS
SCHOLARSHIP IS VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. Entrants agree that this Scholarship shall
be subject to, and governed by, the laws of the Maryland, USA. To the extent
permitted by law, the right to litigate, to seek injunctive relief, or to make
any other recourse to judicial or any other procedure in case of disputes or
claims resulting from or in connection with this Scholarship are hereby
excluded, and any Entrant expressly waives any and all such rights. Certain
restrictions may apply.
By entering, Entrants also agree to be bound by
these Terms and Conditions, as well as that the decisions of the Judges are
final and binding with respect to all matters relating to the Scholarship.
Contacting judges is prohibited and any entrant or group member who contacts a
juror will be disqualified. Entrants acknowledge Sponsors’ right to verify
eligibility of all participants including all group members. Groups with
ineligible or omitted participants will be disqualified. Winners will be
required to provide proof of enrollment as a condition of receiving
award.
All federal, state/provincial/territorial, and local taxes, fees
and surcharges and taxes (whether foreign or domestic, and including income,
sales, and import taxes) on prizes are the sole responsibility of the prize
winners. Prize winners will be issued an IRS Form W-8BEN or Form W-9 if a
citizen of the United States of America, Affidavit of Eligibility, a Publicity
Release (where lawful), and a subsequent IRS Form 1099, and will have seven (7)
days to complete and send it back to the Sponsor. In the event that the selected
Winner(s) of any prize is/are ineligible, cannot be traced, or does/do not
respond within five (5) days to a winner notification as required by the
“Scholarship Prizes” Rules above, refuses the prize, or does not return
paperwork within (7) days of receipt as stated above, then the prize will be
forfeited and the Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may choose whether to award
the prize to another entrant.
The Sponsor reserves the right to verify
the validity and originality of any Entry and/or Entrant (including an Entrant’s
identity and address) and to disqualify any Entrant who submits an entry that is
not in accordance with these Official Rules or who tampers with the entry
process. Failure by the Sponsor to enforce any of its rights at any stage does
not constitute a waiver of those rights.
Right to Cancel or Suspend
Scholarship
If for any reason the Scholarship is not capable of running
as planned, due to infection by computer virus, bugs, worms, Trojan horses,
denial of service attacks, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud,
technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Sponsor that
corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper
conduct of this Scholarship, then the Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole
discretion, to disqualify any individual(s) who tamper with the entry process,
and/or to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Scholarship. If the Sponsor
elects to cancel or terminate the Promotion, then the Sponsor will not retain
any rights in the submitted Entries.

Winners’ names will
be available on www.vectorworks.net/scholarship or about August 18, 2017. Send
an email to academicteam@vectorworks.net to receive information on the winners’
First Name, Last Initial, and Country.
